1. Can I buy SHAZAM software for immediate download?
Yes.  After your payment has been processed, SHAZAM software purchased through the SHAZAM Store is available for immediate download.

2. How long does the SHAZAM Store take to process payments?
The SHAZAM Store uses Realex RealPay (payandshop.com) to process card payments in real time.  As soon as confirmation from Realex RealPay is received (usually almost immediately) then SHAZAM software is available for you to download.  Please note that if you pay by Personal or Business Check/Cheque, your order may be held for up to 10 days after receipt for your check/cheque to allow enough time for the money to transfer.  If you would like us to ship faster after receipt of your payment, then we recommend you send a Money Order or Cashier's check/cheque.  If you wish to pay by Wire Transfer or Interbank Transfer then please contact us at sales@econometrics.com to arrange such a payment.

3. After I have paid, how long will it take before I can download my SHAZAM software?
Usually immediately.  However, in extreme cases, this may take up to three (3) days.  Please see the Terms and Conditions of Sale displayed at http://store.econometrics.com/TermsAndConditionsOfSale.aspx.

4. How do I receive my SHAZAM User’s Reference Manual?
Your SHAZAM User’s Reference Manual will be shipped to you directly from Lulu.com by Priority Mail. 

5. How long does it take to receive my SHAZAM User’s Reference Manual?
When your SHAZAM User’s Reference Manual is ordered here at the SHAZAM Store it will be sent by Priority Mail and delivery times currently are:

6. Can I get started with SHAZAM software immediately even though my SHAZAM User's Reference Manual will take a few days to arrive?
Yes.  SHAZAM software contains some online help and resources including a User Guide, a Command Guide, a SHAZAM Guide, as well as numerous example datasets and command scripts to help get you started.  SHAZAM software also includes a basic demo that shows you how to start programming SHAZAM software in the Windows environment.  However to use all the features of SHAZAM software then your SHAZAM User’s Reference Manual is required.

7. My payment was rejected and I would like to use a different payment card to complete my order but cannot find a way to do that.  What should I do?
In your Account, select ‘Customer Orders’ and open the failed order.  Click the 'Reorder' button, then checkout as before. 

8. Why do I need to create a customer Account on the SHAZAM Store?
All purchases of SHAZAM software require you to provide information to allow us to create the required software licenses for you and to deliver the appropriate SHAZAM software Manuals to you.  Software downloads embed your license information within them and these may only be downloaded by you from your Account area.  Access to the Account area is restricted to you only.
Further, to qualify for discounts when upgrading you must have an Account with us that shows your purchase history so that we can verify your qualification.

9. I have purchased SHAZAM software in the past but have not created an Account or have only now created an Account.  How can I qualify for a discount?
Please ensure you have registered online at the SHAZAM Store to create your Account.  You will receive an email from us and you should follow the instructions in that email to confirm your email address. Once you have completed that confirmation then please contact us at sales@econometrics.com from that email address and quote your previous license name, location and site number. Once confirmed, we will add the correct discount parameters to your Account and confirm that to you by email. When you next login you will see the discounted price shown for qualifying product.

10. I have paid for SHAZAM software and received payment confirmation but where is my download?
Please login to your Account and select the 'Downloads' tab. Please note that only after payment has been confirmed will this download link become active.  If the link is not active and you are certain you have already paid then please contact us at sales@econometrics.com and we will resolve this issue.

11. I clicked the ‘Download’ link but received an error message.  What should I do?
Like all internet software systems, faults can occur either at: the source server; during transmission; at the gateway firewall into your company, organization or institution; or on your local computer.  In addition firewall software and anti virus software may try to prevent you downloading files or quarantine files they believe may contain malware.  The SHAZAM software package is a zip file that contains a setup program that is an executable (.exe).  This zip file is entirely safe to install on your computer.
Sometimes corporate firewalls or internet screening software installed on your local site or computer will block zip files.  Should such a problem occur please contact your local IT support team to resolve that matter. 
If a fault occurs on our servers then our support team will be notified immediately and will seek to resolve the problem as soon as possible.

12. I have attempted to download my SHAZAM software a number of times but have not received it and now the SHAZAM Store won’t allow me to download it any more.  What can I do?
The SHAZAM Store retains a count of each successful download.  This process is extremely reliable because the download count is not changed until the last byte has been confirmed as received by your computer.  However, should this problem occur then please contact us at sales@econometrics.com and we will endeavour to resolve this matter.

13. Once I have downloaded SHAZAM software, what do I do?
The software downloaded is contained within a single zip file and includes the file SETUP.EXE.  Please run this program under a user account with local Administrator Privileges to install the software.  Follow the on-screen instructions and, when prompted, select the edition of the SHAZAM software you have purchased. 
TIP: Software programs on Microsoft Windows run under the account permissions of the logged in user.  Industry recommended best practice for operating all software on Microsoft Windows is that you should only operate a computer under the minimum required user rights for the tasks you have to perform. 

14. Once I have installed the SHAZAM software, how do I enter my license information?
SHAZAM software purchased from the SHAZAM Store comes with license information embedded within it.  You do not need to re-enter this information as it will run automatically and show your license details on the status bar at the bottom of the SHAZAM software.

15. What is Product Activation?
Some SHAZAM software contains Product Activation technology.  This technology prevents licensed copies of SHAZAM software operating after an initial period of operation (usually 7, 14, 21 or 30 days after first installation) unless the SHAZAM software is “activated” by running the SHAZAM Product Activation Wizard. 
This technology safeguards both us and you from malicious use in contravention of the End User License Agreement as well as the Terms and Conditions of Sale and the Terms and Conditions of Use under which all SHAZAM software products are sold and licensed.
SHAZAM Product Activation Wizard information from the embedded license is sent electronically to SHAZAM Product Activation servers.  These SHAZAM servers use an algorithm to generate an activation code that is unique to your license.  SHAZAM servers retain a count of license activations in accordance with the license type you have purchased.  Once the number of activations exceeds the allowed limit, no further activation of the SHAZAM software is permitted.

16. I ran the Product Activation Wizard but it failed to activate my SHAZAM software.  What should I do?

17. I have run out of activations but I am the only user of the SHAZAM software.  What should I do?

18. Does SHAZAM Product Activation work in a virtualized environment e.g. with a product like Hyper-V or VMWare?
Yes.  Virtualization makes no difference to SHAZAM Product Activation.

19. If I upgrade from the SHAZAM Standard Edition software to the SHAZAM Professional Edition software, do I need to first uninstall the SHAZAM Standard Edition software?
Yes.  The SHAZAM Standard Edition software package differs from the SHAZAM Professional Edition software package.  You must first uninstall the SHAZAM Standard Edition software package and then install the SHAZAM Professional Edition software from the download link that will appear on your new order.

20. Does the SHAZAM Store process and keep my payment card information?
No.  All credit and debit card payments are processed on the servers of Realex RealPay (payandshop.com) and not our servers. No credit card or payment information is stored by us nor can we access your payment card details.

21. Why do I need to specify a shipping address when I will receive SHAZAM software as a downloadable product?
All purchases of SHAZAM software include a free copy of the SHAZAM User's Reference Manual.  The Manual is shipped to the specified shipping address.  Further, the SHAZAM software End User License Agreement requires a registered physical address.

22. What information is printed on my SHAZAM software license?
For Single Copy License users of SHAZAM software, the user’s name (such as the company, organisation or institution name as stated in the shipping address) and address are printed on the license file.
For Site License users of SHAZAM software, the user’s company, organization or institution name and (shipping) address are printed on the license file.

23. What is the scope of a SHAZAM software ‘Single Copy License’?
A SHAZAM software Single Copy License will be installed either for all SHAZAM software users on a single computer or all the computers owned or operated by a single SHAZAM software user.

24. What are the terms of a SHAZAM software ‘Site License’?
A SHAZAM software Site License allows an unlimited number of copies of SHAZAM software to be made available to staff, employees or students of a company, organisation or institution at a single address e.g. a Company Branch OR Head Office OR a University Department. In addition SHAZAM site license holders are able to create sublicenses from their SHAZAM Store Account ‘Downloads’ area for their employees, staff or students to use for personal computers at home.  There is no annual fee to pay to maintain the Site License version of SHAZAM software.

25. Can I buy two copies of SHAZAM software for two different users under the same Account?
Yes. Such purchases must be done using two separate orders with each having separate user shipping address details.  The separate shipping address details should differ sufficiently (such as in username or company, organization or institution name) to be able to easily distinguish between the two different users.  The physical address may remain the same.  If multiple copies of SHAZAM software are purchased then all license details on each copy are the same.

26. I have experienced problems with the SHAZAM Store, what do I do?

27. Are SHAZAM software sales final?
Yes.  All SHAZAM software sales are final and cannot be returned once downloaded. Please see the Terms and Conditions of Sale displayed at http://store.econometrics.com/TermsAndConditionsOfSale.aspx.

28. Can I change my license information after purchase?
Normally it is not possible to change this information after purchase through the SHAZAM Store.  However if you have a valid reason for such a change e.g. spelling mistake, typo or a change in company, organisation or institution name then please contact us at sales@econometrics.com.  You may be required to complete an electronic Declaration of Software Destruction.

29. How do you process a Purchase Order?
We accept Purchase Orders as a payment type through the SHAZAM Store. Simply select the SHAZAM products you wish to order and add them to your shopping cart.  Check out as normal but select 'Purchase Order' as the Payment Method and afterwards send the Purchase Order to us by Email or Fax.  The SHAZAM Order Form may be of use when completing an order by Purchase Order. If we accept your Purchase Order you will be able to access your software download immediately and will then need only to log in again and your order will be fulfilled.  For some Purchase Orders we will require that payment is completed prior to access to the software being granted. To arrange the subsequent payment of your Purchase Order then please contact us at sales@econometrics.com.

30. I have a SHAZAM software Site License.  Can I pass my copy to somebody else?
No. You are not permitted to pass your license to another person.  However SHAZAM software Site license holders are permitted to create sublicenses from their SHAZAM Store Account ‘Downloads’ area for bona fide members (such as employees, staff and/or students) of the license holder’s company, institution or organization for personal use or to use offsite e.g. at home on their personal computer. Adding details there will create the member a new account and notify them via email that a single user licensed version of SHAZAM has been prepared for them to download. A copy of the email sent to them will also be sent to you.
